Top 5 Travel Apps in Costa Rica: Q3 2024 Performance Overview

In the third quarter of 2024, the travel app market in Costa Rica showed varying trends across the top five applications on a unified platform, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride demonstrated a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 11.3K in early July and climbing to approximately 13.2K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users fluctuated slightly, beginning with 293K and ending the quarter with nearly 300K users.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw a moderate rise in weekly downloads, starting from 7.9K and reaching about 9K by late September. Active users also showed an upward trend, increasing from 240K to 263K over the quarter.

Airbnb had a mixed quarter in terms of downloads, beginning with 4.5K in early July and slightly decreasing to 3.6K by the end of September. However, weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around the mid-50K range throughout the quarter.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a gradual decline in downloads, starting with 2.9K and dropping to about 2.4K by the end of September. Despite this, the app maintained a consistent level of active users, beginning at 69K and slightly increasing to 68K.

inDrive. Save on city rides witnessed a fluctuating download pattern, with numbers ranging from 5.5K to 5.8K. The active user base, however, saw a slight decline, starting at 68K and ending at approximately 59K.
