Top 5 Travel Apps Performance in UAE Q3 2024

During the third quarter of 2024, the top travel applications in the United Arab Emirates displayed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users. This analysis, based on Sensor Tower data, provides insights into the trends observed for each app.

Careem – rides, food & more saw a progressive increase in weekly downloads, starting at about 18.8K in early July and reaching approximately 19.7K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users fluctuated, starting at 83.3K and peaking at around 87.5K in early September before settling at 81.8K by the end of the quarter.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a decline in weekly downloads, beginning the quarter with 11.7K and decreasing to 7.7K by the end of September. However, the weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around 260K throughout the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a consistent download rate, with figures hovering around 9K. The app's weekly active users demonstrated a slight upward trend, starting at 279.9K in early July and reaching 278.8K by the end of September, despite minor fluctuations during the period.

Bolt: Request a Ride initially experienced growth in weekly downloads, peaking at 8.2K in early August before declining to 4.2K by the end of September. The active users mirrored this pattern, reaching a high of 19.5K in early August before decreasing to 16.2K at the quarter's end.

Emirates showed a consistent decline in downloads, starting at 6.7K and dropping to 5K by the quarter's conclusion. The active user base also decreased steadily, from 14.4K in early July to 12.5K in late September.
