Q3 2024 News Apps Performance in Hungary on Unified Platform

In the third quarter of 2024, Hungary's news app market on a unified platform saw Reddit experiencing a significant peak in weekly downloads. Starting with approximately 3.6K downloads in early July, the app saw a remarkable surge mid-August, reaching a high of 19.8K. Revenue for Reddit also fluctuated, starting at $32, peaking at $90 by the end of September, while weekly active users hovered around 120K to 128K.

X showcased a steady revenue trend, beginning July with approximately $1.2K and reaching $1.6K by the end of September. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 3.4K and 4.3K weekly, with active users slightly declining from 275K to around 248K.

Telex, while not generating revenue, maintained a modest download trend, starting the quarter with 377 downloads and concluding September with 350 downloads.

Google News held steady with no revenue but maintained a consistent download rate, beginning July with 396 and ending September with 348 downloads. Active users showed minor fluctuations, beginning with 97K and ending the quarter with just over 89K.

RTL24 also did not generate revenue but saw an interesting trend in downloads, peaking at 1.5K in early September. Active users started at 6.4K and saw a decline to approximately 5.1K by the end of the quarter.
