Top 5 News Apps Performance in Ghana Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the top news applications on the unified platform in Ghana showcased diverse performance trends, as reported by Sensor Tower.

X from X Corp. saw a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $688 in mid-September. The app's weekly downloads experienced a slight decline, starting at around 18.5K in early July and tapering to approximately 14.5K by the end of September. Weekly active users hovered around 1.1M throughout the quarter, with a minor decrease towards the end.

Reddit maintained a consistent revenue stream with minimal fluctuations, peaking at $7 in late September. Downloads showed a steady trend, averaging around 2K weekly, with a slight dip in the last week of September. Active user numbers increased steadily, reaching nearly 47K by early September before slightly decreasing towards the quarter's end.

Quora, while not generating revenue, saw its downloads slightly increase from around 2.5K in early July to over 2.6K by the end of September. Active users showed a gradual increase, reaching over 60K in early September before stabilizing.

Opera News: Breaking & Local experienced a downward trend in downloads, starting at over 20.8K in July and decreasing to about 9.2K by the end of the quarter. Active users also saw a decline, from over 175K in early July to approximately 150K by the end of September.

PCG Resources, a newer entrant, recorded modest download numbers, starting at 283 in mid-August and peaking at 930 in early September.
