In the third quarter of 2024, the performance of Romania's top navigation apps on a unified platform showcased intriguing trends. Data from Sensor Tower provides an insightful look at the weekly downloads and active user figures for these apps.

Google Maps maintained a consistent presence with downloads peaking at around 19.5K during the week of August 12. Weekly downloads saw a general downward trend towards the end of the quarter, closing with approximately 12.5K downloads in the last week of September. Active users experienced a slight decline over the quarter, starting at about 698K and ending at 677K.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced notable fluctuations in its download numbers. The app saw a peak of approximately 41.2K downloads in the week of August 12, with a gradual decline ending at 20.6K by the end of September. Active user numbers mirrored this trend, with a high of 1.12M in mid-August and a decrease to 901K by the quarter's close.

Moovit: All Transit Options demonstrated a gradual increase in downloads, reaching a peak of 15.3K in the final week of September. The app's weekly revenue showed a steady rise, peaking at around $3.3K at the end of the quarter. Active users also increased, from 120K at the beginning of July to 151K by September's end.
