During the third quarter of 2024, the top navigation apps in Kenya showcased varied performance metrics in terms of downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared:

Google Maps maintained a consistent presence with weekly downloads ranging from approximately 3K to nearly 4K. The app saw its peak downloads of around 4K in late August. Active users demonstrated a steady increase, beginning the quarter at 87.8K and reaching up to 94.6K by early September.

The Bolt Driver App experienced fluctuations in downloads, starting the quarter with about 4.9K downloads but dropping to around 2.4K towards the end of August. However, downloads rebounded slightly in September, consistently exceeding 3K. Active users showed a stable trend, hovering around 46K throughout the quarter.

Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator) reported modest weekly downloads, generally between 150 and 250. Active users grew steadily from 117 to 180 in early September. Revenue was minimal, with occasional peaks of up to $15 in early July and $12 in late August.

The GPS Phone Location Tracker saw a notable increase in weekly revenue, reaching a high of $97 in early September. Downloads peaked at 1.5K in mid-July but gradually decreased to around 458 by the end of September. Active users also saw a peak in mid-September at 2.2K.

Lastly, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a consistent download rate, starting at 995 and peaking at 1.3K in late July. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight dip in August but recovering to approximately 5.2K by the end of September.
