Top 5 Navigation Apps in Ghana Q3 2024: Performance Insights

During the third quarter of 2024, the navigation app landscape in Ghana showed varied performance trends across the top five applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Google Maps from Google maintained a consistent download rate, starting with 7.9K downloads in early July and peaking at 8.4K in mid-July. The app's weekly active users fluctuated slightly, beginning at approximately 161K and reaching a high of 168K by late August.

GhanaPostGPS experienced a notable boost in weekly downloads, climbing from 1.3K in July to a peak of 3.1K in mid-August. Active users mirrored this growth, expanding from 16K to 17.7K in the same period.

The Bolt Driver App saw a decline in downloads from 5.4K at the start of the quarter to 3.9K by September, though active users remained relatively stable, ranging between 54K and 57K throughout the quarter.

GPS Phone Location Tracker earned a modest revenue stream, with weekly earnings peaking at $100 in late August. Downloads started at just 38 in early July but rose to 530 by late July, then leveled out around 300-400 for the remainder of the quarter.

Lastly, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic showed a steady increase in both downloads and active users, with downloads growing from 257 in early July to 434 by mid-September. Active users increased from 2.7K to over 3.3K by the end of the quarter.
