In the third quarter of 2024, the top utilities apps on the iOS platform in Africa demonstrated varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Google maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, starting at around 81K in early July and peaking at approximately 86K in mid-September. The app experienced steady active user numbers, hovering around 1.24M weekly. Revenue was negligible, with a slight increase to $34 in the last week of September.

Google Chrome showed a stable download pattern, beginning the quarter with around 53K downloads and ending at approximately 55K. Weekly active users remained steady, averaging about 1.37M. There was no revenue reported during this period.

Truecaller: Caller ID Blocker from True Software Scandinavia AB saw a modest increase in weekly revenue, starting at around $12K and reaching over $15K by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated slightly, beginning at 48K and ending at about 48K, with a significant dip in late September. Active users consistently remained above 3.6M, peaking at 3.7M mid-September.

Xender:File Share,Share Music experienced a relatively stable download rate throughout the quarter, with a slight uptick in the last week from 33K to 35K. Active users showed minor fluctuations but remained around 180K. No revenue was reported for this app.

Google Authenticator saw a significant spike in downloads, especially in late August and September, reaching up to 84K. Active users followed a similar trend, increasing from 88K in early July to a peak of 173K in late September. Revenue data was not available for this period.
