Top 5 Travel Apps on iOS in UAE: Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the United Arab Emirates saw notable activity in the travel app sector on the iOS platform. According to data from Sensor Tower, the top five travel applications demonstrated varied trends in downloads and active user engagement.

Careem – rides, food & more showed a steady rise in weekly downloads, starting at around 8.6K in early July and peaking at approximately 9.2K in the first week of September. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users increasing from 42.9K to 44.5K by the end of the quarter.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a decrease in downloads over the quarter, starting at 7.5K and dropping to about 4.1K by the end of September. Despite this, weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 138K mark throughout the period.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a consistent download rate, beginning at 5.9K and ending the quarter slightly lower at 5K. The app's weekly active users showed a gradual increase, reaching over 150K by September's end.

Bolt: Request a Ride saw a decline in downloads, which started at 4.3K and fell to 2.6K by the last week of September. Correspondingly, weekly active users decreased from 7.8K to 7.4K during the same period.

Lastly, Emirates exhibited a downward trend in downloads, beginning at 4.7K and tapering off to 3K by the quarter's conclusion. The app's weekly active users also decreased slightly, from 9.3K to 7.5K.
