In the third quarter of 2024, the top iOS news applications in Europe showcased varied performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a detailed look at each app's performance, based on data from Sensor Tower.

X by X Corp. saw a fluctuating pattern in weekly revenue, beginning at approximately $255K in early July, dipping slightly in mid-July, and peaking at around $283K by the end of September. Weekly downloads followed a downward trend from 211K to 194K, while active users decreased from 16.8M to 15.8M over the quarter.

Reddit experienced a modest increase in weekly revenue, starting at $17.5K and reaching over $20K by the end of September. Downloads peaked at 227K in late July before falling to 125K by the end of the quarter. Active users hovered around the 4.8M mark, with slight fluctuations throughout the quarter.

Substack showed a gradual increase in weekly revenue, starting at $3.7K and climbing to nearly $6K by September's end. Downloads rose steadily from 16.5K to 25K, while active users increased from 251K to 319K, indicating a growing user base.

Google News maintained a consistent weekly download rate, ranging between 18K and 22K. Active users exhibited a slight decline from 394K to 364K throughout the quarter. Notably, the app did not generate any revenue during this period.

Nextdoor: Neighborhood Network had a notable spike in downloads, reaching 28.6K in early September, before ending the quarter at 13K. Active users began at 413K, dipped mid-quarter, and closed at 359K. Similar to Google News, this app did not generate revenue in Q3 2024.
