In the third quarter of 2024, the shopping app landscape on Android in Central America showcased intriguing dynamics, as highlighted by Sensor Tower data. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five shopping applications in the region.

Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire saw a consistent pattern in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 871K in late August. Despite a slight dip in early September, downloads rebounded to around 770K by the end of the month. Weekly active users fluctuated, beginning the quarter at roughly 6.7M and ending at about 6M.

SHEIN-Shopping Online experienced an upward trajectory in downloads, reaching a high of approximately 694K in early September. Active users also showed growth, starting from about 7.1M and peaking at nearly 7.6M in early September before stabilizing around 7.5M.

Mercado Libre: Compras online demonstrated steady growth in downloads, climbing from 318K at the beginning of July to nearly 395K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 9M throughout the quarter with minor fluctuations.

Spin Premia experienced a decline in downloads over the quarter, starting at about 180K and decreasing to 112K by the end of September. However, the app maintained a steady increase in active users, beginning at approximately 594K and closing the quarter at around 771K.

Amazon Shopping had a notable surge in downloads mid-July, reaching 271K, then stabilizing around the 110K mark by the end of the quarter. Revenue saw fluctuations, peaking at about $56K, while active users remained steady, ending the quarter at approximately 2.2M.
