In the third quarter of 2024, the dating app scene in Kenya saw varied performance across the top five Android applications. Based on data from Sensor Tower, we explore how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.

SOYO-Live Chat &Make Friends from Haflla HK Limited experienced a remarkable upward trend in weekly revenue, escalating from $231 in early July to approximately $905 by the end of September. The app's downloads fluctuated, peaking at nearly 32K in early August and concluding the quarter with a strong 29.1K. Meanwhile, active users increased from around 63.9K to an impressive 89.4K over the quarter.

Dating and Chat - iHappy maintained consistent weekly active users, nearly 70K initially and reaching over 80K by the end of the quarter. However, its revenue trajectory was downward, starting at $22 and dropping to negligible amounts by the end of September. The app's downloads saw a peak of 23.5K mid-July and closed September with 19.9K.

InternationalCupid: Dating by Cupid Media saw a slight decrease in active users, starting with 33.5K and ending with 27.9K. Revenue remained relatively stable, fluctuating between $82 and $153 across the quarter. Downloads saw a dip towards the end of the quarter, with numbers dropping from 9.9K in July to around 5.2K by September's close.

ignitecove had a dramatic increase in downloads, particularly in September, where it jumped to nearly 35K. The app, however, did not generate revenue throughout the quarter. Active users data was not available, limiting insights into user engagement.

Dating and Chat - Only Spark from Red Panda App saw a significant rise in both downloads and active users. Downloads soared from 2.7K in early July to over 34K by late September. Active users mirrored this growth, expanding from 4.8K to a notable 45.3K over the quarter. Revenue remained minimal, with a slight increase to $6 by the end of the quarter.
