Top 5 Apparel Apps on Android in South Africa: Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the performance of the top five apparel applications on Android in South Africa showcased varied trends in downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

SHEIN-Shopping Online saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, which began at around 115K in early July and peaked at approximately 150K by mid-September. The app consistently maintained a high number of weekly active users, starting from 841K and reaching nearly 986K by the end of the quarter.

MyRunway SA Fashion Shopping experienced a decline in weekly downloads over the quarter. Starting at 18.2K downloads, the numbers decreased to around 8.7K by the end of September. Despite this, the weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 95K and 88K throughout the period.

Nike: Shoes, Apparel & Stories had a fluctuating download trend, with a low of approximately 6.9K in early August and a peak of 13.9K in mid-September. The app's active user base grew steadily from 34.1K to 38.1K by the end of September.

adidas: Shop Shoes & Clothing began the quarter with downloads at 8.5K, experiencing a dip mid-quarter but rebounding to 11.1K by late September. The active user count also showed an upward trend, starting at 54.7K and reaching 58K by the quarter's end.

Lastly, Zara showed a moderate performance with weekly downloads fluctuating, starting at 2.3K and rising to 3.7K by the end of September. Active users increased from 17.4K to 18.9K over the same period.
