Q2 2024 Top 5 Shopping Apps Performance on Unified Platform

In the second quarter of 2024, the shopping app landscape has shown varying trends in user engagement and downloads. Here’s a quick look at how the top 5 shopping apps have fared on a unified platform, courtesy of insights from Sensor Tower.

Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire saw its downloads rise from 100K in the first week of April to a peak of 172K in late April, before stabilizing around the 160K mark by the end of June. Weekly active users also exhibited a growth pattern, starting at 3M and reaching over 3.2M towards the end of the quarter.

SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced a slight decrease in downloads from 136K to 102K over the quarter. Weekly active users, however, showed more volatility, with an initial decline from 7.2M to approximately 6.5M in mid-April, followed by fluctuations and eventually settling around 6.6M by the end of June.

Eurospin's app, simply known as Eurospin, maintained a relatively stable download count, hovering in the 60K range, with a noticeable dip to around 50K in June. The app's weekly active users saw a modest increase from 293K to over 327K throughout the quarter.

SEPHORA - Maquillage, Parfum started the quarter with strong download numbers at 66K, which surged to 100K in mid-April before a downward trend took hold, ending the quarter at around 26K. Weekly active users peaked at 201K in April, followed by a gradual decline to 143K by late June.

Lastly, the AliExpress Shopping App saw downloads begin at 65K, decreasing over the quarter to 33K. Weekly active user numbers showed a more positive trajectory, starting at 2.4M and experiencing a rise to 2.6M mid-June, before a slight reduction to 2.3M at the close of the quarter.
