In the second quarter of 2024, Lebanon's top 5 news apps exhibited varying trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

X from X Corp. saw an interesting pattern in its weekly metrics. Weekly revenue fluctuated, peaking at about $1.3K in mid-June. Downloads experienced an upward trend towards the end of the quarter, reaching approximately 5K in the week of June 17. The number of active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 570K throughout the quarter.

mtv Al Lubnaniya from MTV Lebanon SAL had a more modest performance. Weekly downloads peaked at nearly 4K in mid-May but gradually declined to around 1K by the end of June. Active user numbers followed a similar trend, starting at over 11K in early April and dropping to roughly 9K by the end of the quarter.

Reddit showed a steady increase in weekly revenue, with a notable jump to about $102 in the last week of June. Downloads remained fairly consistent, averaging around 1K per week. Active users for Reddit saw a slight increase, starting at 51.7K in early April and ending at 56.5K by late June.

Awedu, a new entrant from Brainkets, demonstrated rapid growth in weekly downloads. Starting from just 1 download in late May, the app's downloads surged to nearly 9.9K by the end of June. This app did not generate any revenue during this period.

Active users showed a similar trend, peaking at 107K in the week of April 8 and stabilizing around 72K towards the end of the quarter. Revenue for this app remained minimal, with only a small spike to $68 in mid-June.
