In the second quarter of 2024, the top five news applications in Ghana showed varied performance metrics in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at their trends:

X from X Corp. saw a relatively stable performance in weekly revenue, starting at around $552 and peaking at $791 in the week of April 22. Weekly downloads for the app showed a consistent upward trend, beginning at 15.5K and reaching 18.5K by mid-June. The app maintained a strong user base with weekly active users hovering around 1.1M throughout the quarter.

Reddit demonstrated a modest revenue stream with fluctuations between $1 and $10. Weekly downloads displayed a steady increase, beginning at approximately 1.5K and peaking at 1.9K in mid-June. Active users also showed a positive trend, growing from 36.8K to 41.2K over the quarter.

Quora did not generate revenue during this period. However, it experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, starting from 2.3K and reaching nearly 2.9K by early June. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around the 57K mark.

Opera News: Breaking & Local did not report any revenue. The app's weekly downloads saw a significant spike towards the end of the quarter, growing from 1.6K in early April to an impressive 21.8K by late June. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 206.7K in early June before stabilizing around 184K.

RadioApp - A Simple Radio from Firetruck Productions Ltd. saw minor revenue fluctuations, with weekly earnings ranging from $4 to $24. Downloads were relatively stable, increasing slightly from 329 to 476 over the quarter. Active users maintained a steady figure, hovering around 1.5K throughout the period.
