In the second quarter of 2024, the iOS shopping app landscape showed varying trends in user engagement and downloads. Data from Sensor Tower provides a closer look at how the top five shopping apps performed during this period.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire experienced fluctuating download numbers, starting at roughly 11K in the first week of April and peaking at 13K in early June, before dipping to around 9K by the end of June. Weekly active users showed a more positive trend, increasing from 141K to nearly 147K over the quarter.
SHEIN - Shopping Online had a modest download count, staying between 4K and 5K throughout the quarter, with a slight decrease to just under 4K by the end of June. Weekly active users, however, remained robust, starting at 178K and peaking at around 190K towards the end of May.
Tesco Ireland - Home Shopping saw downloads ranging from 3K to 4K, with a slight increase to over 4K in late April, and back to 3K by the end of June. The app's weekly active users started at approximately 13K and displayed a gradual decline, ending the quarter at around 10K.
Lidl Plus also showed varied download activity, with numbers starting at close to 3K, dipping in mid-May, and then peaking at 3.6K in early June. Weekly active users for Lidl Plus were quite consistent, starting at 175K and ending the quarter with a slight increase at 185K.
The Circle K App had the lowest download counts among the top five, with numbers mostly below 1K, except for a significant spike to over 5K at the end of May. Weekly active users data were not available for this app.
