In the second quarter of 2024, the UK's Android shopping app landscape saw varied performances among the top players, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a look at how the top five shopping applications fared during this period.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire experienced a fluctuating download trend, starting the quarter with 130K downloads and seeing a dip to 63K in early June, before rebounding to over 106K by the end of June. Weekly active users (WAUs) followed a similar pattern, decreasing from 2.3M to 2.1M, and then rising to approximately 2.4M.
SHEIN-Shopping Online saw downloads decreasing from 95K to 52K mid-quarter, with a slight recovery to 68K by the quarter's close. The app's WAUs showed more stability, starting at around 1.3M, dipping to 1.2M, and closing the quarter at a similar 1.3M.
AliExpress downloads were initially at 36K, dropping to 28K, and then surging to 98K by the end of Q2. The app's WAUs saw a low of 728K in mid-April, with peaks and valleys, ending the quarter slightly higher at 810K.
Tesco Grocery & Clubcard consistently maintained its downloads in the 30K to 42K range throughout the quarter. WAUs for Tesco Grocery & Clubcard were initially at 1.1M, peaked at 1.3M in late May, and concluded the quarter slightly lower at 1.2M.
Vinted - Buy and sell clothes downloads started at 42K, dipped to 33K, and ended at 35K. WAUs showed a small decline from 890K to 842K in mid-April, but ended the quarter on a strong note with over 908K active users.
