Top 5 Travel Apps Performance in Colombia for Q1 2024

The first quarter of 2024 saw significant activity in the travel app sector in Colombia. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five travel apps on a unified platform, based on data from Sensor Tower.

inDrive. Save on city rides started the quarter strong with 76.5K downloads in the first week of January, peaking at around 87.6K by the end of the month. However, downloads saw a decline towards the end of the quarter, ending at approximately 60.7K in the final week of March. Weekly active users also showcased a fluctuating trend, starting at 2.51M and reaching a high of 3.12M in mid-March before settling at around 2.75M.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced a relatively stable download rate, beginning with about 53.9K downloads in early January and ending with 48.6K in the last week of March. The app’s weekly active users grew from 1.19M at the start of the quarter, peaking at 1.55M towards the end of January, and finally saw a decrease to 1.29M by the end of March.

Uber - Request a ride maintained consistent download numbers throughout the quarter, starting with 32.7K in the first week of January and increasing to 33K by the end of March. Active users showed a growth trend from 950.2K, peaking at 1.25M in mid-March, and closing the quarter at around 1.12M.

Airbnb saw a varied download pattern, starting strong with 54.4K downloads in early January, then experiencing a significant drop to 18.8K by mid-February, and slightly recovering to 23.6K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users began at 141.6K, dipping to a low of 101.1K in February, and ending the quarter at 105.2K.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel had a steady decline in downloads from 37.8K in the first week of January to 24.3K by the end of March. Active users mirrored this trend, beginning at 453.2K and decreasing to 341.1K by the final week of the quarter.
