In the first quarter of 2024, the top finance apps in Latin America demonstrated significant activity across downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how these apps performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Nubank: Conta, Cartão e mais experienced notable weekly downloads throughout the quarter. The app saw a peak of approximately 1.4M downloads in the week of January 8, followed by another high of 1.4M in the week of February 12. Despite a slight decline towards the end of March, weekly downloads remained robust, averaging around 1.1M. Active users showed a consistent pattern, starting at 53.8M at the beginning of January and ending at 55.7M by the end of March.

Mercado Pago: cuenta digital maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 630K and 750K, with the highest number of 749K occurring in the week of January 8. Active users also showed a consistent increase, starting at 31.8M and reaching up to 34.5M by early March.

CAIXA Tem saw a significant surge in downloads towards the end of the quarter. Weekly downloads jumped from 446K in mid-March to over 1.5M by the last week of March. This increase in downloads was accompanied by a rise in active users, which started at 4.8M in early January and grew to 7.3M by the end of March.

PicPay: Conta, Cartão e Pix showed consistent download numbers, averaging around 430K to 470K per week throughout the quarter. The app’s active users fluctuated slightly but generally trended upwards, starting at 12.6M in early January and peaking at 13.4M in early March.

Nequi Colombia experienced a varied download rate, with a peak of 734K in mid-January. Downloads dipped to a low of 240K by mid-March but recovered slightly towards the end of the month. Active users showed a steady increase from 3.6M in early January to a peak of 4M in early March before a slight decline to 3.7M by the end of March.
