Top 5 Finance Apps in Australia Q1 2024

The first quarter of 2024 saw interesting trends in the performance of the top five finance apps in Australia on a unified platform, according to data from Sensor Tower.

CommBank displayed a consistent download rate, starting with approximately 27.6K downloads in the first week of January and peaking at around 32.2K in early March. Weekly active users hovered around 3.7M, peaking at 3.8M in the second week of January before seeing a slight decline to 3.6M by the end of March.

Google Wallet experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at 18.9K in early January and reaching a high of 36.5K in mid-February. Active users showed a substantial rise, beginning at 197K in the first week of January and peaking at 546K in mid-March.

PayPal - Send, Shop, Manage maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 21.9K and 25.1K. Active users started at 532K in the first week of January and saw a slight decrease to around 500K by the end of March.

NAB Mobile Banking saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, beginning at 15.7K and peaking at 20.5K in mid-February. Active users started at 1.26M in early January, reaching a high of 1.35M by the end of February before declining to 1.22M in late March.

Westpac observed a steady download rate, starting at 13.8K in early January and peaking at 19.6K in late January. Active users fluctuated, starting at 1.03M and seeing a slight decline to around 1.01M by the end of March.
