In Q1 2024, the top education apps in Sweden exhibited diverse performance patterns across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five education apps on a unified platform.

Duolingo - Language Lessons started the quarter strong with weekly revenue peaking at around $95K in early January. However, the revenue saw a gradual decline, dipping to approximately $50K in early February, before stabilizing around $67K-$71K towards the end of March. Weekly downloads followed a similar trend, starting at 11.9K and peaking at 15.8K mid-January, before settling around 10.2K by the end of the quarter. The app maintained a robust user base with weekly active users fluctuating between 210K and 223K throughout the quarter.

Kahoot! Play & Create Quizzes experienced modest revenue growth, starting at $2.6K in early January, dipping slightly mid-quarter, and ending with a peak of $3.7K in the last week of March. Weekly downloads were relatively stable, averaging around 4K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight decline from 34.7K in early January to 28.9K by the end of March, with a few fluctuations mid-quarter.

SchoolSoft Vårdnadshavare, a new entrant in the market, saw a significant surge in downloads after its release at the end of February. Starting with 479 downloads in the first week, the app quickly rose to 20.7K downloads in the first week of March, before stabilizing around 4K by the end of the quarter.

Mecenat had a fluctuating pattern in downloads, starting at 2.8K in early January, peaking at 5.8K mid-January, and then gradually declining to 2.4K by the end of March. Active users saw a slight decline from 90.4K in early January to 80.1K by the end of the quarter, with some variations in between.

Finally, UR Play maintained a steady performance throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads ranged from 2.7K to 4.7K, while active users fluctuated between 4.6K and 5.5K, showing consistent engagement.
