Australia's Top Utilities Apps on iOS: An Overview of Q1 2024 Trends

As the first quarter of 2024 comes to a close, we’ve observed interesting trends among the top Utilities apps on the iOS platform in Australia. Sensor Tower's data offers a glimpse into the performance of these applications in terms of downloads and active users.

myGov saw a fluctuating trend in downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 39K and peaking at nearly 49K in the second week of January. Weekly active users grew from around 389K to a high of 437K in the third week of March, before a slight drop to 420K.

Google experienced a general decrease in downloads throughout the quarter, with an initial 42K downloads dropping to 27K by the end of March. The app maintained a relatively stable active user base, starting with 168K users and slightly decreasing to around 161K.

Google Chrome had a mid-quarter spike in downloads, reaching 27K in early February, but ended the quarter at around 18K downloads. Active users remained steady, with an initial count of 874K and closing the quarter with 873K.

Google Authenticator showed a notable spike in downloads in early February at 17K, but similar to other apps, it ended the quarter with a lower number of approximately 11K downloads. Weekly active users saw an overall increase, from 113K to a peak of 143K in mid-March, before declining to 124K.

My Telstra had a steady performance in downloads, hovering around 12K to 14K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users showed a slight downward trend, beginning with 106K and dipping to 98K by the end of March.
