In the first quarter of 2024, the finance app landscape on Android in Latin America showcased significant activity and growth. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 finance apps according to data from Sensor Tower.

Nubank: conta, cartão e mais saw consistent weekly downloads, peaking at over 1.2M in mid-February. Active users experienced a steady increase from around 43M at the beginning of January to approximately 45M by the end of March.

Mercado Pago: cuenta digital maintained a strong download rate, with weekly downloads averaging around 500K to 600K. Active users grew steadily, starting at 27.6M in early January and reaching close to 30M by early March, before a slight dip towards the end of the quarter.

Nequi Colombia demonstrated a varied download pattern, with a notable peak of around 690K in mid-January. Active users increased from 3.3M at the start of the quarter to a high of 3.7M by mid-March, before slightly decreasing towards the end of the period.

PicPay: Conta, Cartão e Pix had a consistent download rate, peaking at nearly 400K in mid-March. The number of active users showed a general upward trend, starting at around 10.9M and reaching approximately 11.6M by early March, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.

CAIXA Tem experienced significant growth in downloads, especially in March, jumping from around 231K in early March to over 1.2M by the end of the month. Active users also surged, starting at 4.2M in January and more than doubling to 6.4M by the end of March.
