Throughout the fourth quarter of 2023, the top shopping applications in Africa demonstrated varying trends in weekly downloads, active users, and revenue. Below is a detailed analysis of the performance of these leading apps: SHEIN - Shopping Online, Jumia Online Shopping, Alibaba.com, Jiji Nigeria, and Amazon Shopping.

SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a consistent decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 536K in late September and ending at around 134K by the end of December. Active users fluctuated but remained robust, peaking at nearly 2M in late October and stabilizing around 1.8M towards the end of the quarter.

Jumia Online Shopping experienced a peak in weekly downloads in late October with about 277K, before declining to roughly 92K by the end of December. Active users showed a peak of over 2.4M in early November, followed by a gradual decrease, stabilizing around 1.7M by the end of the quarter.

Alibaba.com exhibited a notable increase in weekly downloads towards the end of the quarter, rising from about 90K in late October to over 162K by the end of December. Active users remained strong throughout the quarter, peaking at nearly 3.9M in the final week of December.

Jiji Nigeria showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 88K in late September and reaching around 124K by the end of December. Active users, however, saw a decline from around 1.1M in late September to approximately 857K by the end of December.

Amazon Shopping experienced a peak in weekly downloads in early October with about 117K, before declining to around 82K by the end of December. Weekly revenue showed a significant increase, peaking at about $2.4K in the final week of December. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 2.3M and 2.8M throughout the quarter.
