The fourth quarter of 2023 saw varied performance among the leading insurance applications in Africa, based on data from Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user trends for the top 5 apps: Clientèle, Discovery, GlobeMed Fit, Santam Switch, and OUTsurance.

Clientèle saw a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting with 5.9K in late September and peaking at 7.3K in late October. The downloads then declined to 2.8K by the last week of December. Active users showed a steady growth, climbing from 88.9K at the beginning of the quarter to 102.1K mid-December, before slightly decreasing to 99.7K by the end of the quarter.

Discovery experienced its highest weekly downloads at 6.6K in early December, up from 4.9K at the quarter's start. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, with a high of 72.9K in mid-December and ending the year at 67.9K.

GlobeMed Fit had a significant spike in weekly downloads, reaching 7.4K at the end of October. The downloads then stabilized around 3.3K in the last week of December. Active users showed a peak of 9.1K in late October, settling to 6.9K by the end of the quarter.

Santam Switch demonstrated an upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at 1.4K in late September and hitting a peak of 5K at the end of October. The app concluded the quarter with 2.2K downloads in the last week of December.

OUTsurance maintained a relatively stable download rate, beginning at 2.5K and peaking at 3.1K in late November. Active users showed a gradual increase, starting at 6.1K and ending the quarter at 6.4K.
