Q4 2023 Performance of Top Utilities Apps on iOS in Europe

As the year 2023 came to a close, the utilities category on the iOS platform in Europe saw significant user engagement and download activity. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a clear view of how the top applications in this category performed during the fourth quarter.

Google maintained a strong presence with downloads peaking at 865K in mid-October before tapering off to 715K towards the end of December. The weekly active users remained consistently above 15M throughout the quarter, showcasing the app's stable user base.

Meanwhile, Google Chrome experienced a steady download trend, with a notable spike to 462K in the week of Christmas. The active user count for Chrome reflected a slight decline from 18.2M at the start of the quarter to 18.1M by the quarter's end.

The VPN - fast, secure, no limits app demonstrated fluctuating download numbers, with a significant jump to 279K in late November. Revenue for this app showed an upward trend in mid-December, reaching nearly 2K USD, while weekly active users saw a peak of 944K in the same late November period before closing the quarter at 875K.

Free VPN Proxy by Planet VPN also had its highs and lows in terms of downloads, with a peak at 377K in late September and a dip to 79K in late November. Revenue for this app remained relatively consistent, with a slight dip to 5.3K USD by the end of December. The weekly active users showed a gradual decrease from 6.4M to 7.3M over the quarter.

Lastly, Google Authenticator maintained steady download figures, ranging between 118K and 157K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users saw a peak of 1.3M in early December before ending the year with just over 1M users.
