In Q4 2023, New Zealand's top five iOS navigation apps exhibited diverse performance trends. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user statistics, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps consistently led the navigation category. Weekly downloads started at about 4.5K in late September, peaking at around 6.5K by the end of December. Active users fluctuated slightly but maintained a robust presence, ending the quarter with approximately 410K.

AT Mobile demonstrated steady performance in terms of downloads, beginning the quarter with 1.7K and ending with just over 1.2K. Active users showed a slight decline from 14.5K in late September to 13.3K by the end of December.

Bpme had a relatively stable download rate. It started with 1.2K downloads in late September and concluded the quarter with about 800 downloads.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 780 and rising to 1.4K by the end of December. Active users also grew, from 20K in September to nearly 25K in December.

Transit • Subway & Bus Times experienced moderate download activity, ranging from 550 to 600 downloads weekly. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, hovering around 3.8K throughout the quarter. The app generated modest weekly revenue, peaking at $96 in mid-November.
