Q4 2023 U.S. Android Auto App Performance Overview

As the year 2023 wrapped up, the performance of auto-related applications on the Android platform in the United States revealed interesting user engagement trends. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, presents a snapshot of how these applications fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.

Chevron saw downloads ranging from approximately 42K to 73K, with a notable peak in mid-December. Weekly active users followed an upward trend, starting at 87K and ending the quarter with over 130K.

For Cars.com – New & Used Vehicles, downloads stayed within the 30K to 42K range, experiencing a slight upswing towards the end of December to 38K. The app maintained a robust active user base, starting at 345K and reaching up to 362K in the final week of the quarter.

CarGurus: Used & New Cars had more variability in downloads, with numbers fluctuating between 15K and 24K. Weekly active users showed resilience, beginning at 150K and climbing to nearly 150K by the end of Q4.

The Toyota app's downloads were consistent, with a low of 17K and a high of 23K in the holiday season. Its weekly active users saw a steady increase from approximately 298K to 334K, indicating growing engagement throughout the quarter.

Lastly, CARFAX - Shop New & Used Cars demonstrated downloads in the range of 13K to 20K. While starting the quarter with around 44K weekly active users, the app saw a rise to 47K by year-end, showing modest but positive user activity growth.
