In the third quarter of 2023, the top news applications in Kenya demonstrated varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active user metrics. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared:

X from X Corp. saw a dynamic quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at approximately $2.2K in the week of August 21. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a high of about 31.8K during the week of August 7, before gradually declining to around 14.4K by the end of September. Active users showed a slight decline from around 1.19M in late June to approximately 1.1M by the end of the quarter.

The Economist - News, Podcasts had a stable performance. Weekly revenue remained mostly steady, peaking at $381 in mid-August. Downloads were relatively low but showed a slight increase, peaking at 894 in the week of September 11. Active users followed a similar trend, increasing from 2.3K in late June to around 2.8K by the end of September.

Bloomberg: Business News Daily experienced minor fluctuations. Weekly revenue varied, with a high of $362 in early July and a low of $110 in early September.
