In the third quarter of 2023, the top five shopping apps on the Android platform in Africa showcased varying performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here's an overview of their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace experienced a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from 228K at the end of June and peaking at 311K in early September. Active users also steadily rose from 3.4M to nearly 3.9M over the quarter.

SHEIN-Shopping Online had a mixed quarter in terms of downloads, with a notable peak at 496K in the last week of September. Active users showed a steady rise, reaching about 1.4M by the end of the quarter.

Amazon Shopping saw weekly downloads fluctuate, peaking at around 129K in early September before dropping to 82K by the end of the month. Weekly revenue saw an upward trend, culminating at approximately $1K in the final week of September. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 2.3M mark throughout the quarter.

JUMIA Online Shopping showed strong performance in downloads, with numbers climbing from 72K at the end of June to 126K in the last week of September. Active users also showed a positive trend, peaking at over 2M in late August.

Kenzz كنز, a relatively new entrant, saw impressive growth in downloads, starting from just a few hundred at the beginning of the quarter and reaching over 140K by mid-September. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 207K in mid-September.
