In the third quarter of 2023, the top 5 lifestyle apps on the Android platform in Kenya demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. This data, provided by Sensor Tower, offers a detailed look at these trends.

MySafaricom from Safaricom Limited saw weekly downloads fluctuating throughout Q3. Downloads started at around 18.3K in late June, peaked at approximately 23.8K in mid-September, and ended the quarter with 21.1K. Weekly active users showed some volatility, beginning at 1.78M and ending at 1.77M, with a notable dip to 1.67M in early September before recovering.

My Airtel, published by Airtel Africa, experienced steady growth in weekly downloads, starting at 10.9K in late June and increasing to 15.9K by mid-September. Active users also showed a consistent increase, beginning at 190K and peaking at 207K in late August before stabilizing around 189K by the end of the quarter.

Pinterest, a popular app from the US-based Pinterest, had a relatively stable download performance with minor fluctuations. Weekly downloads began at 9.3K in late June, saw a low of 6.7K in early July, and ended at 8.6K. Active users remained robust, starting at 234K and ending at 244K, peaking at 246K in mid-September.

Glovo: Food Delivery and More, by Glovoapp 23SL, showed significant variability in its weekly downloads, beginning at 6.3K and peaking at 11.7K in late August before dropping to 6.3K by the end of September. The app's active users began at 133K, peaked at 147K in late August, and settled at 132K by the end of the quarter.

Dune Adventures, a newer entry, saw its downloads start at 6.8K in early July and peak at 11.7K in mid-August before declining to 4.7K by early September.
