The third quarter of 2023 witnessed significant activity in the lifestyle app category on the Android platform in Africa. Here, we delve into the performance of the top 5 apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

WeMuslim: Athan, Qibla&Quran by Metaverse Technology FZ-LLC showed remarkable growth in downloads, starting from around 191K at the end of June and peaking at approximately 625K in mid-September. Active users followed a similar trend, rising from about 296K in late June to a high of 1.25M by mid-September.

Pinterest maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 145K and 207K. Active users remained consistently high, ranging from roughly 3.9M to over 4M during the same period.

Muslim Muna: Quran Azkar Athan from Muslimuna Studio saw a varied download pattern, starting with 148K in late June and peaking at approximately 252K in late August. The app's active user count remained robust, with a slight increase from around 6.7M to nearly 6.8M by the end of September. Weekly revenue hovered in the low hundreds, peaking at about $106.

Lastly, Mobilawy by ExxonMobil experienced a dramatic rise in downloads mid-quarter, jumping from about 2.4K in early July to approximately 113K by mid-August. Active users saw a similar upward trend, growing from around 23K to a peak of 170K in mid-August.
