In the third quarter of 2023, the finance app landscape in Ghana saw significant activity. The top five apps on the Android platform showed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at each app, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.

MoMo, published by MTN, displayed a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads. Starting strong with around 45K downloads in the last week of June, it experienced a dip mid-quarter, hitting a low of approximately 22K in late August, before peaking again at about 57K in mid-September. The app's active users showed a similar pattern, beginning at 116K and rising to a peak of 142K in mid-September.

Fido - Online Loans App, Ghana, from Fido Solutions, maintained a steady increase in weekly downloads. Starting with roughly 9.9K downloads in late June, the app reached its highest point at approximately 26K by the end of September. Active users for Fido also saw growth, beginning at 227K and peaking at around 247K in the last week of September.

ProfitLoan saw varying weekly downloads throughout the quarter. Starting at 8.6K downloads in late July, the app experienced a significant dip to about 735 in mid-August, before rebounding to around 18K by the end of September.

Exness Trade: Online Trading, published by Exness Global Limited, showed a steady increase in weekly downloads. Starting from around 1.8K in late June, the app consistently grew, peaking at approximately 8.2K in late August. Active users mirrored this trend, beginning at 8.2K and reaching a high of about 15K by the end of August.

PerfectLoan, from MoneyBox Ghana, had a notable increase in weekly downloads. After a slow start with only 23 downloads in late July, the app saw a surge to about 17K by the end of September.
