In the second quarter of 2023, the top five utilities applications in Oceania showcased notable trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at their performance based on Sensor Tower data.

myGov from Services Australia saw a remarkable number of weekly downloads, peaking at around 112K in late March. This figure experienced fluctuations throughout the quarter, with a low of approximately 69K in early April, before rising again to nearly 89K by the end of June. Weekly active users also demonstrated a positive trend, growing from around 312K at the start of the quarter to approximately 382K by its end.

Google maintained a consistent download rate, with weekly downloads ranging between 32K and 43K. Active users for this period also remained stable, starting at about 5.5M and ending the quarter with nearly 5.9M.

Google Chrome saw weekly downloads fluctuate, beginning the quarter with around 30K and reaching a peak of approximately 38K by the end of June. The active user base for Google Chrome was impressively steady, hovering around 9.6M throughout the quarter.

Google Authenticator had weekly downloads ranging from 18K to 31K, with notable spikes in late May. Active users varied slightly, starting at approximately 278K and ending the quarter with about 271K.
