Top 5 Navigation Apps in UAE Q2 2023

The second quarter of 2023 saw some interesting trends in the performance of the top five navigation applications in the United Arab Emirates. Here’s a detailed look at how each app fared based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 14K in late March and peaking at 18K by the end of June. The app also saw consistent weekly active users, ranging from approximately 1.2M to 1.19M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced fluctuations in downloads, starting at around 8.9K in late March and ending at about 11K by late June. The weekly active users also showed a slight upward trend, growing from 292K to 301K over the same period.

Qibla Finder Compass 100% saw a dip in weekly revenue mid-quarter, with the lowest point at $539 in mid-June before rising to $1.1K by the end of June. Downloads fluctuated between 2.6K and 4.4K, while active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 7.4K to 8.5K.

S'hail saw a steady increase in downloads, starting at 3.5K in late March and reaching 4.8K by the end of June. The app's active user base also grew, starting at 20K in late March and peaking at approximately 23K by the end of June.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation experienced a peak in weekly downloads at 10K in late May, followed by a significant drop to 2K by the end of June. Active users showed a slight increase throughout the quarter, starting at 58K in late March and reaching around 65K by the end of June.
