Top 5 Insurance Apps in the US in Q2 2023

The second quarter of 2023 saw interesting trends for the top 5 insurance apps in the United States on a unified platform, with data provided by Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at how each app performed in terms of weekly downloads and active users.

Progressive maintained a consistent download rate, starting the quarter at 157K and ending at approximately 127K weekly downloads. The active users fluctuated slightly, peaking at around 1.55M in late April and maintaining a steady user base of around 1.53M by the end of June.

State Farm® experienced stable weekly downloads, beginning Q2 with about 96K and ending with roughly 95K downloads. Active users also showed a steady pattern, with a small increase from 590K at the end of March to 608K by the end of June.

GEICO Mobile - Car Insurance saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at 65K and peaking at around 73K in mid-June. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around the 910K to 940K range throughout the quarter.

Drive Safe & Save™ led in active users, starting with 2.74M at the end of March and maintaining a strong user base around 2.76M by the end of June. Weekly downloads were consistent, with figures ranging from 54K to 66K throughout the quarter.

UnitedHealthcare had a varied download rate, starting at 64K and ending Q2 at approximately 50K weekly downloads. Active users showed a slight decline from 164K at the end of March to around 150K by the end of June.
