In the second quarter of 2023, the top five navigation apps on the iOS platform in the United States demonstrated diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps continued to dominate the navigation category with consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 337K to 422K. The app saw a peak in the week of May 22, reaching approximately 422K downloads. Active user numbers remained strong, starting at around 24.7M and slightly increasing to 25.8M by the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a steady rise in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads climbed from 130K at the start of the quarter to 184K by the end of June. Active users also saw growth, moving from 7.9M to 8.6M over the same period.

ParkMobile: Park. Pay. Go. showed moderate download numbers, with weekly figures fluctuating between 71K and 97K. Active users increased steadily from 570K to 610K, indicating a growing user base throughout the quarter.

Transit • Subway & Bus Times had a stable performance with weekly downloads varying from 34K to 45K. Revenue remained relatively consistent, peaking at around $12.6K in late April. Active users fluctuated slightly but maintained an overall strong presence, ending the quarter with approximately 1.96M users.

Moovit: All Transit Options saw steady growth in both downloads and revenue. Weekly downloads increased from 22K to 36K, while revenue peaked at around $6.6K in the last week of June. Active user numbers remained stable, hovering around 115K throughout the quarter.
