The first quarter of 2023 has shown intriguing trends for the top 5 travel apps in Italy. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, highlights the weekly downloads and active user metrics for Booking.com: Hotels & Travel, Ryanair, Trenitalia, Trainline: Buy train tickets, and Uber - Request a ride.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads ranging from approximately 51K to 70K. The app saw a peak in downloads at about 70K during the week of February 13. Active users showed a growth trend, starting from around 1.5M at the beginning of January and rising to nearly 1.9M by the end of March.

Ryanair experienced a significant boost in weekly downloads, especially during the week of March 6, reaching around 67K. Active users also saw fluctuations, with a notable increase from nearly 234K in late December to approximately 267K by the end of March.

Trenitalia exhibited consistent weekly downloads, moving from about 26K to 33K over the quarter. Active users showed a steady upward trend, starting at around 377K in late December and peaking at roughly 503K in early March.

Trainline: Buy train tickets saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, especially in March, with a high of approximately 50K during the week of March 13. Active users steadily rose from about 310K in late December to around 361K by the end of March.
