In the first quarter of 2023, the top five shopping applications in Kenya showed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides valuable insights into these trends.

Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace experienced a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 28.6K in late December and peaking at approximately 37.3K by the end of March. Active users also saw a steady rise, growing from 403.5K to over 505.5K during the same period.

Jiji Kenya: Buy & Sell Online maintained a stable download rate, beginning with 29.6K downloads and reaching a peak of 38.8K towards the end of March. Active user numbers showed a gradual increase, starting from 190.2K and climbing to 203.1K by the end of the quarter.

JUMIA Online Shopping saw fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at 31.1K, dipping mid-quarter, and then stabilizing at around 28.9K by the end of March. Active users fluctuated as well, beginning at 261.4K and ending with a slight decrease to 239.3K.

Kilimall - Affordable Shopping showed a declining trend in weekly downloads, starting from 32.6K and dropping to 26.4K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, beginning at 272K and decreasing to 257.1K.

Copia App experienced a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting at 11.5K and peaking at 27.7K by early January, then stabilizing at around 18K by the end of March. Active users also saw a substantial increase, starting from 51K and reaching 87.1K by the end of the quarter.
