In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 news applications in Finland displayed a range of performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Reddit saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $266 in mid-March. Weekly downloads experienced fluctuations, peaking at 7.7K in early March, while active users rose from 243K in early January to 259K by the end of March.

Yle showed significant spikes in weekly downloads, reaching 13.1K at the end of February. Active users also saw growth, peaking at 35.7K in late February.

X experienced a dramatic increase in weekly revenue, especially in early March, peaking at $2.3K. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 2.3K and 3.3K, while active users hovered around 342K throughout the quarter.

HS – Helsingin Sanomat maintained a consistent weekly revenue, ranging from $7.3K to $11.9K, with a noticeable peak in early January. Downloads were stable, ranging from 1.6K to 2.9K, and active users showed a slight upward trend, reaching 228K by the end of March.
