In the first quarter of 2023, the performance of the top 5 navigation applications in Africa showcased varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s an overview based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps saw a steady download rate, peaking at approximately 63K in the first week of January and gradually declining to around 51K by the last week of March. Weekly active users exhibited some fluctuations, starting at 2.8M and reaching up to 3M by late January, before stabilizing around 2.7M towards the end of the quarter.

Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at $1.9K in the final week of February. Downloads showed a significant drop from 55K in late January to approximately 22K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 60K and reaching a peak of 98K in late January, then declining to around 66K in the last week of March.
