Top 5 Education Apps Performance in Madagascar, Q1 2023

In the first quarter of 2023, the education app market in Madagascar showed diverse trends across the top five applications. Here’s an overview of their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Duolingo: Language Lessons saw a varied performance in weekly revenue, starting at around $410 and dipping to a low of $101 by mid-February before climbing back up to $295 by the end of March. Weekly downloads demonstrated a steady increase throughout most of the quarter, peaking at 3.8K in mid-March before a decline to 2.4K in the final week. Active users showed a consistent upward trend, starting from 11.6K and reaching a high of 21.8K in late March.

Brevet Bac Sup Primaire 2025 had no significant revenue until the final week of March, where it recorded a minimal $2. Weekly downloads showed a declining trend from 1.3K at the start of January to just 224 by the end of March. Similarly, active users decreased from 3.4K in early January to 1.4K in late March.

Learn Spanish did not generate any revenue throughout the quarter. However, weekly downloads saw an overall increase, starting from 301 at the end of December and peaking at 736 in mid-February before settling at 349 in the last week of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, increasing from 220 to 463 by late February, then declining to 278 by the end of the quarter.

French - English also did not generate revenue during the quarter. Downloads showed a steady increase, starting at 226 in late December and reaching a peak of 897 in mid-March. The app ended the quarter with 535 downloads in the last week.

Superbook Kids Bible App did not report any revenue for the quarter. Weekly downloads peaked at 1K in early January but dropped to 348 by the end of March. Active users showed a similar trend, starting at 797 and peaking at 1.2K in early January before declining to 703 by the end of March.
