In the first quarter of 2023, the top five utilities applications on the iOS platform in Kenya showcased notable trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at their performance metrics:

Google maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 1.8K weekly downloads in late December and peaking at 2.2K in the week of February 20. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained strong, ranging from 57K to 59.5K throughout the quarter.

Google Chrome also exhibited stable download numbers, with weekly downloads varying between 1.5K and 1.6K. Active user numbers were steady, hovering around 48K to 49K during the quarter.

Truecaller: Caller ID Blocker saw a healthy performance in both revenue and user engagement. Weekly revenue peaked at $921 in early January and remained above $600 for most weeks. Downloads were consistent, averaging around 1K per week. Active users ranged from 148.6K to 155.3K, reflecting strong user retention.

Xender: File Share, Share Music demonstrated steady download numbers, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 877 and 1.03K. Active users showed a slight decline, starting at 10.1K in late December and dropping to around 9.7K by the end of March.

Psiphon experienced a significant spike in weekly downloads in early February, reaching nearly 2K, but later settled to around 500 by the end of March. Active user numbers saw a notable increase from 327 in late December to over 1.1K by the end of the quarter. Weekly revenue was modest, peaking at $51 in late December.
