During the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 shopping apps on the Android platform in the United States demonstrated varying performance in downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a closer look at the data from Sensor Tower.

Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire saw impressive trends in its weekly downloads and active users. Starting with 473K downloads in late December 2022, the app peaked at 1.3M downloads in the week of February 20, before stabilizing around 517K by the end of March. Active users also showed significant growth, starting at 2M and reaching a peak of 6.3M in early March, before ending the quarter at 5.5M.

SHEIN-Shopping Online experienced consistent growth in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads began at 197K and saw a steady climb to around 470K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at nearly 2M and gradually increasing to 2.6M by the end of the quarter.

Walmart: Shopping & Savings displayed a relatively stable performance. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 109K and 172K throughout the quarter. Active users saw a slight decline from 6.4M in late December to around 5.7M by the end of March.

Amazon Shopping showed a robust performance in revenue and active users. Weekly revenue started at $4.1K and saw a significant boost, peaking at $182K in the week of March 20 before settling at $150K by the end of the quarter. Downloads ranged from 99K to 178K, while active users remained fairly stable, starting at 9.6M and ending at 8.8M.

AliExpress had a notable increase in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads began at 50K and surged to 202K by mid-March, before dropping to 107K by the end of the month. Active users also saw growth, starting at 1.8M and peaking at 2.2M in mid-March, ending the quarter at about 2M.
