In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top 5 travel applications in Costa Rica exhibited diverse trends across weekly downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at their performance.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, beginning at around 9.7K at the start of October and peaking at 15K in mid-December. Active users showed a general upward trend, starting at approximately 258K and reaching a high of 288K in mid-December before dipping to 248K by the end of the year.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw consistent weekly downloads, beginning at about 9.8K and fluctuating around this mark throughout the quarter. The app’s active user base remained relatively stable, starting at 223K and peaking at 240K in mid-December, before ending the quarter at 197K.

inDrive. Save on city rides had a steady performance in weekly downloads, generally hovering between 5K and 8K. Weekly active users showed a moderate increase, starting at 84K and peaking at 96K in mid-December, before settling at 89K towards the end of the quarter.

Airbnb experienced fluctuations in its weekly downloads, starting at around 3.2K and peaking at 5.8K in the last week of December. The app’s active user base saw a gradual increase from approximately 36K to 44K over the quarter.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel showed a steady rise in weekly downloads, starting at 1.2K and reaching 2.8K by the end of December. Active users also increased, beginning at 49K and peaking at 65K in the final week of the year.
