Top 5 Shopping Apps Performance in Mexico Q4 2022

During the fourth quarter of 2022, the performance of the top 5 shopping apps in Mexico, based on data from Sensor Tower, revealed interesting trends in downloads and active users.

Mercado Libre: Compras Online had a strong quarter with weekly downloads peaking at around 343K in mid-November and ending the year with approximately 335K in the last week of December. Active users saw a notable rise from around 9.1M at the start of October to a peak of 10.3M in mid-December, before settling at 9.5M by the end of the year.

SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced a more fluctuating trend in downloads, starting at around 286K and peaking at 306K in early October, then dipping to around 220K by mid-December before recovering to 286K in the final week. Active users for SHEIN started at about 4.6M, peaked at nearly 5M in late November, and ended the quarter at approximately 4.2M.

Shopee MX: Compra En Línea saw a steady download rate with numbers ranging from 150K to 198K, peaking in early October. Active users were relatively stable, starting at around 2.8M and fluctuating slightly to end the quarter at approximately 2.6M.

Coppel: compras en línea maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, peaking at around 180K in mid-November. Active users showed a gradual increase from approximately 1.6M in early October to about 1.8M by the end of December.

Amazon Shopping saw a steady increase in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads ranged from around 122K to 183K, with the highest numbers recorded in the last week of December. Active users also saw a rise from approximately 2.6M at the start of October to around 3M by the end of December. Notably, Amazon Shopping generated a modest revenue towards the end of the quarter, peaking at $67 in the last week.
