Top 5 Shopping Applications in Costa Rica for Q4 2022

The fourth quarter of 2022 saw significant activity in the Costa Rican shopping app market. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five shopping applications on a unified platform, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Gollo experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, starting with a peak of around 43.7K in mid-November and ending the quarter with approximately 30.2K. The app's weekly active users grew steadily, beginning at about 29.3K and reaching around 82K by the end of December.

SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a downward trend in weekly downloads, starting from roughly 20.2K in mid-November and decreasing to about 11.3K by the end of December. However, its weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 176K to 188K throughout the quarter.

Tiendamia had a notable drop in weekly downloads, beginning with approximately 8.2K in mid-November and falling to about 5.2K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users also saw a slight decline, from around 30.5K to about 28.8K during the same period.

Alibaba.com showed a consistent performance in weekly downloads, starting at around 7K in early November and maintaining a similar level of approximately 5.1K by the end of December. The app’s weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained close to 94K to 91.4K throughout the quarter.

Amazon Shopping exhibited stable weekly downloads, starting at about 3.6K in early November and finishing the quarter at around 3.7K. The app’s weekly active users saw a consistent increase, beginning at approximately 180.5K in mid-November and remaining around 177.5K by the end of December.
