Top 5 Navigation Apps in France Q4 2022

Throughout Q4 2022, the top 5 navigation apps in France showed distinct patterns in terms of downloads, revenue, and active user engagement, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 47K and 64K. The highest number of downloads, 64K, was recorded in the week of October 24. Weekly active users ranged from approximately 7.5M to 8.2M, peaking in the same week as downloads.

Essence / Gasoil Now experienced a significant spike in weekly downloads early in the quarter, reaching over 352K in the week of October 10. This surge was mirrored by an increase in weekly active users, peaking at 456K in the same week. Revenue trends for the app saw a decline from $748 in mid-October to around $179 by the end of December.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic showed consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 66K to 94K. The highest download count of 94K was observed in the last week of December. Weekly active users hovered around 5.5M, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 5.6M.

Essence&CO also saw a notable increase in weekly downloads early in the quarter, reaching 255K in the week of October 10. Active users peaked at 317K in the same period. Revenue for the app was modest, peaking at $224 in mid-October before declining to single digits towards the end of December.

Bonjour RATP had relatively stable weekly downloads, averaging around 30K to 42K. The app saw a peak in active users at 375K in the week of November 7.
