In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top insurance apps in Africa showed varied performance trends in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of mTek, Discovery, OUTsurance, Clientèle, and Santam app.

mTek saw a significant decline in weekly downloads over the quarter. Starting with a high of approximately 25K downloads in early October, the app's downloads dropped sharply, reaching just a few hundred by the end of December.

Discovery maintained a more stable performance. Weekly downloads hovered around 6K to 7K throughout the quarter, while weekly active users remained robust, peaking at around 74K and ending the quarter at approximately 70K.

OUTsurance experienced modest fluctuations in downloads, with figures ranging from around 2.8K to 3.1K. Active users showed a slight decline from roughly 7K at the beginning of the quarter to about 5.9K by the end.

Clientèle demonstrated consistent download activity, with weekly downloads generally between 2K and 2.8K. Active users remained steady, fluctuating around the 19K mark, with a slight uptick to nearly 20K in the last week of December.

Lastly, Santam app had an interesting pattern in downloads, starting with fewer than 1K downloads per week and then spiking to over 5K towards the end of December.
